Requirements
- Pursuing or holding a degree in Journalism, Broadcast Journalism, Communications, Public Relations, or a related field.
- Possess a strong interest in broadcast journalism, public speaking, and digital media.
- Demonstrate excellent verbal communication skills and confidence in conducting interviews in public settings.
- Have basic experience with video editing/recording software and posting content to social media platforms.

Job Description
This intern’s role will play a vital part in delivering timely news updates and topic breakdowns on our social media platforms. The intern will be responsible for effectively implementing AI in an ethical manner. Topics include those in the political, news media and journalism arenas. The Reporter, Digital Media intern will also conduct on-the-street interviews for our social media platforms. This intern will be an impartial representative of ONC, fostering dialogue and informed discussions that can contribute to a deeper understanding of critical issues in today’s society. This intern will work closely with the Social Media team lead, the Director of Marketing, the CEO and the COO, while also working independently. The Reporter, Digital Intern must be comfortable on camera including having their video content posted to our social media platforms and website.
This position is remote, with work primarily conducted over Zoom and Slack, so applicants must be comfortable coordinating in a remote environment and are expected to maintain a high level of communication.
Produce clear, SEO-friendly stories, headlines, social posts; edit for web reading
Conduct on-the-street interviews with members of the public as well as college students to gather diverse perspectives and insights on current events and trending political topics
Collaborate with the social media team to create engaging video reels featuring on-the-street interviews and other relevant content
Shoot/edit photos and video, record/audio, produce shorts
Coordinate closely with the social media team lead to ensure alignment with content strategy and content calendar
Monitor audience feedback and engagement metrics to identify trends and opportunities for audience interaction and growth
Actively participate in coaching sessions and workshops to enhance reporting skills, public speaking abilities and understanding of social media best practices
Qualifications
This role would be good for those with or working towards a degree in Journalism, Broadcast Journalism, Communications, Public Relations and/or related fields
Strong interest in broadcast journalism, public speaking, and digital media required
Excellent verbal communication skills and confidence in conducting on-the-street interviews in a public setting
Basic experience with video editing/recording software and posting onto social media platforms
Excellent written and verbal communication skills (English) are required
Ability to conduct in-person interviews and work on their own schedule to meet deadlines
Google Workspace experience preferred
Ability to occasionally attend Monday All Hands meetings (mandatory)
Ability to attend weekly (Tuesday) Marketing Department meetings (mandatory)
Must be authorized to intern in the U.S.
