Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled Trade Leader to manage a team of Trade professionals to envision and execute strategic trade initiatives that drive global business growth and operational efficiency. In this role, you will be focused on developing tariff management strategies, providing new market entry guidance and leading programs to stand-up these new markets as well as driving the vision for systems and tools to efficiently enable global customs compliance. You will also be an experienced people leader who recognizes great talent and supports your team to bring their best to achieve our ambitious goals.ResponsibilitiesPeople Leadership: Hiring, performance management, nurturing and growing talent* Program Management & Communication: Drive actions to keep the initiatives within your team on track and deliver at the pace needed by the RL Team. Ensure communications are clear and concise and organized for decisions and actions* Tariff Management Strategies: Analyze global tariff structures and identify opportunities to reduce duty exposure through supplier sourcing strategies, special economic zone utilization, free trade agreements, duty drawback, and other trade programs. Develop and implement strategies to optimize landed cost and improve margin performance. Collaborate with legal, finance, and supply chain teams to ensure compliance and maximize savings* HS Classification: Manage the review of products under the Harmonized System to ensure accurate tariff application and compliance.Work with product, engineering, and legal teams to gather technical data and support classification decisions.Maintain up-to-date knowledge of global HS code changes and communicate impacts to relevant stakeholders* New Market Entry: Lead cross-functional teams in assessing and executing entry into new international markets from a trade compliance perspective.Conduct risk assessments and provide guidance on regulatory requirements, import/export controls, and market-specific trade barriers.Support business development with trade-related insights and recommendations* Stakeholder Engagement: Serve as the subject matter expert on strategic trade topics for internal teams and executive leadership. Build and maintain relationships with external advisors, government agencies, and industry groups as needed* Continuous Improvement: Monitor global trade trends and regulatory changes to proactively identify risks and opportunities.Recommend and implement process improvements to enhance trade compliance and efficiencyQualificationsLicensed Customs Broker (LCB) or Certified Customs Specialist (CCS) credential* 10+ years of experience in global trade compliance, international logistics, or related roles* 7+ years of people leadership in Logistics, Trade or Compliance* Experience in tariff mitigation, HS classification, and new market entry* Analytical, project management, and communication skills* Experience in working cross-functionally and influence at all levels of the organization* Experience with global trade regulations, FTAs, and customs procedures* Experience with trade management systems and data analysis tools
